Bragança is remote. There are no train services to the city — the railway line that once connected it to Porto was closed. By bus, Rede Expressos runs daily services from Porto (about 3.5 hours) and Lisbon (about 6 hours). By car, Bragança is reached via the A4 motorway from Porto, then the IP4, a scenic drive through the mountains and plateau of Trás-os-Montes. From Spain, the nearest crossing is at Quintanilha, a short drive from the city.
Bragança has a small airport (BGC) with limited regional connections. Most international visitors fly to Porto and drive or take the bus.
