Cluj Arena

31,000-seat football stadium and major concert venue south of the centre

Cluj Arena, opened in 2011 on the south side of the river, is a modern 31,000-seat stadium and the city's main concert venue. It hosts CFR Cluj and the Romanian national team for football, and major international tours stop here for stadium gigs — Iron Maiden, Sting, and Untold Festival, one of the largest electronic music festivals in Eastern Europe, takes over for four days every August.

The stadium is a short walk from the Central Park and the southern end of the city centre. On non-event days the surrounding area is quiet; on event nights it transforms the city.
