Enigma Cafe

A steampunk-themed cafe with brass clockwork, near Museum Square

Enigma is the city's most photographed cafe — a long bar room kitted out in full steampunk, with brass cogs, exposed pipes, leather armchairs, and a rotating contraption of mechanical sculpture above the bar. The coffee is good, the cocktails are inventive, and the room is open from morning until late.

The novelty wears off after a while, but it has held its place because the drinks are reliable and the room is genuinely fun. Good for a long afternoon out of the rain.
