Grigorescu

A pleasant western residential district, close to the botanical garden and Hoia forest

Grigorescu, on the western edge of Cluj, is a relatively green residential district with leafy streets, mid-rise 1960s blocks, and rising property prices. The area sits at the foot of the hills that lead up to Hoia-Baciu Forest, and the open-air section of the Ethnographic Museum is here.

Most visitors only see Grigorescu when crossing it on the way to the forest, but the cafes around the central market — Piața Flora — give a sense of everyday Cluj that the centre cannot.
