Romulus Vuia Ethnographic Park

Open-air Transylvanian village museum with wooden houses, mills, and churches

The Romulus Vuia Ethnographic Park is Cluj's open-air museum of rural Transylvania, with wooden houses, farm buildings, gates, mills, and churches moved here from across the region. It is one of the best places in the city to understand the vernacular architecture behind the villages seen from train and bus windows.

Allow time to wander rather than treating it as a quick photo stop. The setting on the edge of Hoia forest gives the museum breathing room, and the buildings make a good counterweight to Cluj's urban churches, theatres, and student bars.
