When to Go

The ski season runs from December through March, with peak conditions usually in January and February when snowfall is heaviest. March has longer daylight hours and the slopes are quieter. Romanian public holidays and ski school holidays fill the resort in late February — book early if visiting then.

Summer is genuinely pleasant, with cool temperatures at altitude (typically 18–22°C), good hiking on the Postăvarul massif, and far fewer visitors than winter. The forest trails are well-marked and easily combined with a cable car ride to the summit. Spring and autumn are quiet, cheap, and perfectly fine for visiting Brașov itself, though most of the resort's energy is dormant.
