Turda is 30 km south of Cluj-Napoca and the most common approach is from there. Frequent minibuses and buses run from Cluj's bus station on Autogara 2 (near the central market) to Turda throughout the day; the journey takes about 40 to 50 minutes and costs around 10-15 lei. Taxis from Cluj are also reasonable. Direct trains connect Turda with Cluj and other Transylvanian cities, though the bus is often more convenient for the central Cluj connection.
Turda is small enough to explore on foot from the town centre. The Salina Turda salt mine is about 3 km from the main square — buses and taxis connect them, or it's a walkable distance if the weather is good.
