Turda's main draw is underground: the Salina Turda salt mine is one of the most unusual visitor attractions in Romania and worth the journey from Cluj or anywhere else in Transylvania. Above ground, the old town has a pleasant main square and some well-preserved Baroque architecture, and the surrounding hills offer good walking.
