Krasnodar Stadium

The Krasnodar Stadium is the home ground of FC Krasnodar, the city's football club, which has risen from the lower Russian leagues to become a regular Champions League competitor within the space of fifteen years — one of the more remarkable stories in Russian football. The stadium holds 35,000 people and is considered one of the finest club grounds in Russia.

The surrounding Galitsky Park, developed at the same time by the same owner, is a publicly accessible botanical garden with modern landscape design — an unusual and genuinely impressive public space for a Russian provincial city. Tours of the stadium are available on non-matchday dates.

A story
The Krasnodar Stadium, opened in 2016 and privately funded by Sergei Galitsky, a local billionaire who made his fortune in grocery retail, was designed as a football stadium on par with top European venues. Galitsky built it alongside a botanical garden and children's park as a civic gift — an unusual act of private philanthropy in modern Russia that made international headlines.
