Things to Do

Kursk's main draw is its World War II heritage. The city and surrounding region were the stage for the largest tank battle in history, and the museums and memorials here take that history seriously. Beyond the war legacy, the city has the striking Znamensky Cathedral, a unexpected Roman Catholic church in the Gothic-revival style, and a pleasant riverside park along the Tuskar and Kur rivers.
