Moscow Triumphal Gate

The Moscow Triumphal Gate is a monumental cast-iron arch built in 1838 to mark Russian victories in the wars with Turkey, Persia, and Poland. Designed by Vasily Stasov, it is one of the city's more unusual imperial monuments: grand in scale, but set well away from the usual central sightseeing route.
