Rumyantsev Park is a small green square on Vasilievsky Island, centred on an obelisk honouring Count Peter Rumyantsev's victory in the Russo-Turkish War. The monument was made in the late 18th century and later moved here from the Field of Mars.
It is not one of Saint Petersburg's grand set pieces, but it is a pleasant pause while walking the island. The obelisk gives the little park a formal, old-imperial feel that fits the surrounding streets.
