Belgrade Arena

The Belgrade Arena is the largest indoor arena in Southeast Europe, a 22,000-seat venue in central Novi Beograd that hosts concerts, sports events, and the occasional political rally. It is the place where Novak Djokovic was celebrated after his grand slam wins, where the Davis Cup has been decided, and where virtually every international touring artist plays when they come to Serbia. On concert nights the surrounding streets fill up with an energy that transforms this otherwise quiet commercial district.

For visitors, the Arena is primarily worth knowing about in terms of logistics — checking what is on during your stay. The complex is surrounded by hotels, shopping centres, and restaurants that make it a node of activity. The architecture itself is not especially remarkable, but the scale is impressive, and its presence explains much of the commercial development in this part of Novi Beograd over the past two decades.

A story
The Arena was built in 2004 and immediately became the largest indoor arena in Southeast Europe. Its first major event was a Rolling Stones concert. It has since hosted the Davis Cup, the EuroBasket tournament, and nearly every major act that passes through the Balkans.
