Eating Out

Poprad has a decent restaurant scene for its size, with a mix of Slovak traditional cooking and international options. The Spišská Sobota square has a couple of pleasant cafes for coffee and cake. Slovak cuisine in this region means bryndzové halušky (potato dumplings with sheep's cheese and bacon), kapustnica (sauerkraut soup), and various preparations of smoked and cured meats. The restaurants around the main Poprad square and near the Tatras railway station are the most convenient.
