Getting There

Poprad has its own airport (TAT) with direct connections to several British and Irish cities — Ryanair and Wizz Air operate seasonal routes, primarily during ski season. The airport is right on the edge of the city. Outside ski season or for other origins, Bratislava or Kraków airports are the practical alternatives; both are 2–3 hours from Poprad by car.

By train, Poprad is on the main Bratislava–Košice rail corridor. The journey from Bratislava takes about 3 hours on an intercity service. From Kraków, the Polish border is just north of the Tatras; buses and occasional direct services cross at Lysá Poľana, the northern Tatra border crossing. Within Slovakia, trains from Košice take about 90 minutes.
