Kranjska Gora Ski Resort is the town's winter engine, with slopes close enough to make the resort feel almost urban by alpine standards. It is especially convenient for families and intermediate skiers who want easy access rather than a remote high-altitude system.
The ski area is not enormous, so advanced skiers may exhaust it quickly. Its appeal is the complete package: lifts near the centre, cross-border mountain scenery, and enough après-ski and restaurants to keep a short winter break simple.
