Planica Nordic Centre sits a few kilometres west of Kranjska Gora and is one of the great venues of ski jumping and ski flying. Even outside event days, the scale of the jumps is impressive; they make ordinary ski slopes look modest.
Visit during competitions if you want noise, flags, and Slovenian sporting pride at full volume. At quieter times it works as a short excursion, especially combined with Zelenci or a walk into the Tamar valley.
