Zelenci Springs

Zelenci Springs is a small nature reserve west of Kranjska Gora, where clear green water rises at the source area of the Sava Dolinka. A short boardwalk takes you to the pools, with mountains and reeds framing the view.

It is an easy outing by bike, car, or bus-and-walk, and it is one of the best low-effort nature stops in the valley. Stay on the paths: the reserve is fragile, and the whole point is the clarity of the spring landscape.

A story
Zelenci's green colour comes from spring water rising through chalky sediment, not from theatrical lighting or tourist exaggeration. On a still day the pools look almost artificial, which is why first-time visitors tend to stop talking for a moment.
