Getting There

Almería has its own airport east of the city, with the best flight links in summer. Taxis and local buses connect the airport with the centre.

By train: Trains run from Madrid and other Spanish cities, though routes can be slower than the map suggests. The station sits near the modern centre and is walkable to the old town.

By bus: Long-distance buses are often the most practical overland option, with connections to Granada, Málaga, Murcia, and towns along the coast. The bus station is beside the railway station.

By car: The A-7 motorway follows the coast. A car is useful if you want to explore Cabo de Gata, the Tabernas desert, or smaller coastal towns, but parking in the old centre can be awkward.
