Playa de Mazagón

The town beach of Mazagón runs for several kilometres west of the small marina, a wide stretch of golden sand backed by a low promenade. It is busy in July and August with Spanish family holidaymakers from Sevilla and Huelva but rarely uncomfortably so, and almost empty outside the school holidays.

The water shelves gently and is generally calm, which makes it good for children. Lifeguards are on duty in summer. A handful of chiringuitos — beach bars selling fresh fish, paella, and cold beer — open along the sand from June through September.
