Bar de la Plaza

The village gathering point — coffee, beer, and conversation under the plaza trees

The bar on Zufre's small central plaza is the only reliably functioning café in the village. In the mornings it serves coffee and tostadas; later in the day it switches to beer, wine, and tapas. The terrace under the trees is the place to sit and watch village life at its own pace — which is very slow indeed. It is the kind of bar that exists primarily for the people who live there, which makes it considerably more interesting than bars that exist primarily for tourists.

Opening hours are irregular by Spanish small-village standards, which is to say unpredictably. It is most reliably open on weekday mornings and weekend afternoons.
