The Port of Los Cristianos keeps the town from feeling like a resort facade. Ferries to La Gomera and other western Canary Islands come and go through the harbour, mixed with excursion boats, fishing craft, and the ordinary bustle of passengers with luggage.
Even if you are not leaving Tenerife, the port is worth a look. It gives Los Cristianos a practical rhythm that Las Américas lacks, and it is the starting point for many dolphin and whale-watching trips along the south coast.
