By train: León has direct train connections to Madrid (around 2 hours on the fast Alvia service), Oviedo, Gijón, and other northern cities. The station is a 15-minute walk west of the old quarter across the river.
By bus: The bus station is near the train station. Regular services run to Salamanca (via Zamora), Valladolid, Burgos, and smaller towns in the province.
By road: León sits on the A-66 motorway (the Ruta de la Plata) and the A-231, with easy access from Madrid, Oviedo, and the northwest.
