Alcázar de San Juan is a working market town rather than a tourist destination, but it has a compact historic centre worth an afternoon. The Mudéjar tower, the Renaissance churches, and the small Cervantes museum are the main draws. The windmills on the plain outside town are the quintessential La Mancha image and are a short drive or cycle ride away.
