The best short excursions from Sigüenza are small and atmospheric rather than grand. Palazuelos has walls and a castle above an almost silent village, while Pelegrina sits at the entrance to a limestone gorge with castle ruins above it. Both make sense by car or as part of a cycling route through the Alto Henares countryside.
