Sigüenza is a town for slow looking: the cathedral, the castle, the Romanesque churches, the Alameda, and the stone lanes that bind them together. The old quarter is small enough to cover on foot in a morning, but the quality of its medieval buildings rewards a full day's exploration.
With a car, the nearby villages and ruined castles make it a rewarding base for exploring the quieter north of Guadalajara province.
