The Parque Marítimo del Mediterráneo is a large saltwater leisure complex built into the rocky Mediterranean coastline at the western edge of the city. Designed by César Manrique — the Lanzarote architect who made a career of fitting bold public spaces into volcanic and coastal landscapes — it consists of a series of terraced saltwater pools, waterfalls, and gardens descending to the sea. The complex is popular with families and locals throughout the summer.
It is open from late spring to early autumn. There is an admission charge, and there are cafes and sun loungers to hire inside.
