Melide is on the Camino de Santiago and most visitors arrive on foot. By road, the AC-840 connects Melide to the A-54 motorway between Lugo and Santiago de Compostela, a 50-minute drive from either. Regular buses run from Santiago and Lugo and stop at the small terminal on Avenida de Lugo, a five-minute walk from the centre.
There is no train station. The nearest airports are Santiago de Compostela and Lugo (the latter for small regional flights only).
