Buñol Castle is the town's best everyday sight. The fortress began under Muslim rule in the 11th or 12th century, was taken by Christian forces in the 13th century, and later served as a noble residence and barracks.
It is not a polished palace, and that is part of the appeal. Walls, gates, houses, and small museum spaces sit together inside the old enclosure, so visiting feels like walking through a fortified neighbourhood rather than a single monument.
