The yellow-stuccoed Old Town Hall on the central square is the prettiest civic building in town — a neoclassical box from 1826 with a low pitched roof and a small clock turret. The municipality outgrew it long ago, but it has been kept in use and now hosts exhibitions and civic events.
In summer the square in front is a busy outdoor café and market space. The Stora Torget (main square) and the streets running off it toward the river are the most pleasant part of the centre for an evening walk.
