Skrea strand is one of the longest sandy beaches in Sweden — over four kilometres of fine pale sand backed by low dunes and pine. It is the social heart of summer Falkenberg: families on the sand, swimmers wading out into the shallow Kattegat, a stretch of cafés and ice-cream stalls behind the dunes.
The water is sheltered and warms up early in summer for Sweden — by July it is comfortable for long swims. The northern end has the main café strip and the indoor pool complex (Klitterbadet); the southern end is quieter and a better choice if you want to walk and find your own patch of dunes.
