Fjällnäs Castle

Fanciful turreted villa at the foot of Dundret, built 1904 by a mining engineer

Despite the name, this is a villa rather than a castle — a quirky 1904 timber building with turrets, balconies and Art Nouveau detailing, built by Hjalmar Lundbohm, the manager of the LKAB mining company. The exterior is the main attraction, set against the wooded slope of Dundret. It is sometimes used as a conference centre, but you can usually walk the grounds.
