Jönköping is well connected by train and road. Stockholm is about two hours by express train; Gothenburg is around 90 minutes. The city lies on the E4 motorway, the main north–south artery of Sweden.
Jönköping Airport (JKG) has limited scheduled services, mostly domestic. Most international visitors fly into Stockholm Arlanda or Gothenburg Landvetter and take the train. The central station is a short walk from the lake.
