Jönköping's most famous attraction is the Match Museum — the story of how a town in southern Sweden invented the safety match and then manufactured most of the world's supply for a century. Beyond that oddity, there are good churches, a pleasant cultural centre on the waterfront, and the lake itself, which dominates everything. The city is more interesting than its size suggests.
