Esrange Space Center

Esrange Space Center is a launch and research facility northeast of Kiruna, used for sounding rockets, high-altitude balloons, satellite communication, and atmospheric research. Its Arctic location makes it important for work on auroras, noctilucent clouds, and polar-orbit satellites.

Visitors normally experience Esrange through its visitor centre or arranged tours rather than the operational base itself. Check access before going, as it is a working space facility well outside town.
