Labro Meadows (Labro ängar) is a nature reserve on the eastern edge of Nyköping municipality, protecting a stretch of traditionally managed meadow and wetland along the Svärtaån river. It is one of the best wildflower sites in Södermanland, with orchids and other meadow species appearing in early summer across the hay meadows that line the river.
The reserve has marked walking trails and is easily reached by bicycle from the town centre — about four kilometres along flat terrain. Birdwatchers come for waders in spring and autumn migration, and the river pools attract kingfishers. It is a good antidote to the castle-and-museum circuit if you have an extra half-day in Nyköping.
