Nils Oscar is one of Sweden's better-known craft breweries, based in Nyköping and producing a range of ales and lagers that have won international recognition. The brewery operates a malthouse on site, which is unusual among Swedish craft producers — they grow their own barley on the family farm outside town and malt it themselves, giving their beers a distinct character.
The brewery shop and taproom are open to visitors and offer the chance to try beers that rarely make it outside Sweden. Guided brewery tours can be arranged in advance. Nils Oscar also produces a small range of spirits, including a whisky. If you want to take something home that is genuinely made in Nyköping, this is the place.
