Per Helsa's Court

Half-timbered courtyard from 1480s

Per Helsa's Court (Per Helsas Gård) is one of the oldest secular buildings in Ystad: a half-timbered courtyard complex dating from the 1480s, restored in the 20th century. The cobbled courtyard, the leaning timber facades, and the surviving small windows give an unusually intact picture of late medieval urban architecture in southern Sweden.

The court is in the centre of the old town, a few steps from Stortorget. The buildings now house craft shops and small studios, with the courtyard open to visitors during the day.
