By train. Aigle is on the main Lausanne-Montreux-Sion-Brig railway, with frequent regional and InterRegio services. From Geneva Airport, change at Lausanne or Montreux; from Zurich, travel via Bern and Lausanne or via the Lötschberg/Simplon route depending on connections.
Mountain railways. The station forecourt is the starting point for narrow-gauge lines into the Vaud Alps, including the train up to Leysin. This makes Aigle a natural interchange for travellers without a car.
By car. The A9 motorway runs just west of town. Driving is easy in the valley, but the roads up to Leysin and the surrounding resorts become slow and winding in winter weather.
