The three castles and the connecting murata walls are the centre of any visit. All three can be walked in a full day, and the views from Sasso Corbaro at the top of the hill over the valley and the Ticino river are worth the climb. Below the castles, the old town has good churches and a Saturday market. The Villa dei Cedri museum on the south edge of town has a garden and a small collection of 19th-century Swiss and Italian painting.
