Parsenn

Parsenn is the largest and most celebrated of Davos's seven ski areas, accessed by the Parsenn Funicular from Davos Dorf. It spreads across a vast high-altitude plateau between Davos and Klosters, offering long cruising runs in all directions, excellent off-piste terrain, and the legendary Weissfluh run — a 12 km descent from the summit to Küblis in the valley below, dropping 2,000 m in one go.

The Parsenn-Klosters area is connected, so you can ski from Davos to Klosters and return by train. The Weissfluh summit at 2,844 m has sweeping views of the Graubünden Alps that justify a cable car ride even on a non-skiing day. The runs suit all abilities but the best terrain — the long, wide pistes and the powder fields above the tree line — is at its finest in fresh snow.

A story
The Parsenn Funicular, which climbs from Davos Dorf to the Weissfluhjoch at 2,662 m, has been running since 1931 — one of the world's oldest mountain funiculars still in regular operation. It was built to service what was already, even then, one of Europe's premier ski resorts.
