Lausanne eats well for a city its size. The old town has a concentration of traditional Swiss restaurants serving fondue, raclette, and rösti; the Flon district has a wider international range including Japanese, Lebanese, and Italian. Prices are Swiss — that is, high — but quality is generally good. The Place de la Palud market on Wednesday and Saturday mornings is the best place to assemble a picnic.
