The terrace restaurants along the lakefront promenade trade on their setting, and on a warm evening it's hard to argue with the view. Grilled lake perch (persico) is the signature dish — fresh, simple, and good. Fresh pasta and Merlot del Ticino round out the standard menu. Prices are higher here than in the old town, and the clientele in summer skews heavily towards Milanese day-trippers and weekend visitors — which tells you something about what they come for.
