Eating Out

Montreux eats well for a town of its size. The Grand-Rue and the streets just above the lakefront have the best concentration of restaurants — a mix of Swiss classics, Italian, and French brasserie-style places. Prices are Swiss: expect to pay 25 to 40 CHF for a main course at a sit-down restaurant. The lakefront restaurants have the views but charge accordingly. The indoor market on Tuesday and Friday mornings sells good local cheese and charcuterie.
