Schloss Wülflingen is a handsome manor house built in the 1640s on the site of an older castle in the western district of Wülflingen, now incorporated into the city. The white-rendered building with its corner tower and formal garden is one of the best-preserved examples of Swiss early-modern domestic architecture in the canton of Zurich.
The castle operates as a restaurant in the warmer months, which gives visitors a reason to step inside and enjoy the period rooms and the garden terrace. The surrounding village of Wülflingen retains its agricultural character — there are farmhouses and vineyards on the hillside — and makes for a pleasant afternoon walk from the city centre, about 3 kilometres to the west.
