Lindt Home of Chocolate

Vast chocolate museum at the Lindt & Sprüngli factory, with the world's tallest chocolate fountain

The Lindt Home of Chocolate, opened in 2020 at the Lindt & Sprüngli factory in suburban Kilchberg, is the most polished — and the most extensively interactive — chocolate museum on the planet. The headline feature is the 11-metre tall chocolate fountain in the central atrium, which pumps real molten chocolate around the clock. From there, a long self-guided tour traces the cocoa bean from Caribbean plantation to bean-to-bar in dozens of multi-sensory stations, with frequent tasting stops.

Reckon on two hours; there is a chocolate-making workshop you can book for an additional fee (advance booking essential, popular). At the end you arrive in the unavoidable but genuinely well-stocked Lindt shop. Get there by S-bahn (10 minutes from Hauptbahnhof to Kilchberg, then a short walk) or by lake boat in summer — the museum is right at the Kilchberg ferry dock.
