Polish Gate

The Polish Gate (Polska brama) is one of the surviving city gates of Kamianets-Podilskyi's medieval fortification system — the main gate on the north side of the old town connecting the island to the "New Town" across the canyon. The current structure is largely a 16th-century reconstruction of an earlier gate, with a tower that formed part of the defensive wall system protecting the approaches to the old town.

The gate now stands somewhat isolated from its original context — the city walls it anchored were mostly demolished in the 19th and 20th centuries — but it remains one of the most intact pieces of the old town's medieval fabric. It is a short walk from the main cathedral square and gives a good sense of the original defensive architecture of the city.
