The Jew's House Restaurant

Fine dining in one of the oldest domestic buildings in Britain

The Jew's House Restaurant occupies the famous 12th-century Norman house halfway up Steep Hill and is one of the most distinctive dining rooms in eastern England — a small downstairs room with thick stone walls, an upstairs room with low beams, candles after dark. The kitchen runs a modern British menu drawing on Lincolnshire produce: Lincoln Red beef, locally smoked haddock, seasonal vegetables, an excellent cheeseboard.

Bookings essential, especially on Friday and Saturday evenings. The tasting menu is the best value for the kitchen's range; à la carte if you want a shorter meal. Closed Mondays.
