Getting There

Bury St Edmunds has a railway station north of the centre, with services toward Cambridge, Ipswich, and Peterborough via regional connections. The walk from the station to the abbey gardens takes about fifteen minutes.

By road, the A14 is the main approach from Cambridge, Newmarket, and Ipswich. The town centre is walkable once you have parked; do not try to see it from behind a windscreen.
