Ely Cathedral dominates everything — it's one of the finest medieval buildings in England, and a visit to it takes at least two hours if done properly. Around the cathedral, Oliver Cromwell's House and the riverside offer pleasant additions. The fens themselves, flat and vast and peculiarly beautiful, reward a bicycle ride if you have time.
